WP 2A: User-driven and nutritional acceptability
Aim:
Description of typical Danish meal patterns with focus on meal patterns among Danish children 8-10 yrs. Definition of adjustments to fulfil the nutrition recommendations, the food based dietary guidelines and the guidelines for healthy meals in schools and institutions.
Milestones:
- Identification of the main food groups, meals and nutrient content of the present diet of about 400 children in the age group 8-10 yrs. Data from the Danish National Survey of Dietary habits collected from 2000-2006.
- In collaboration with WP1, and two other components of WP2: definition of a recommended food intake pattern.
- Nutritional evaluation of the NND and meals developed in WP 1, with regard to composition, portions sizes etc. Definition of adjustments to ensure that the diets follow the Nordic Nutrition Recommendations, and the Food Based Dietary Guidelines.
